Ellesmere Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Newsletter

August 2022

A word from the editor

Hello! How are you?
With the start of the next academic year looming, we are as busy as ever here at ECPT towers. We are looking forward to welcoming a whole host of new people – our Core Theory Year (was the Foundation year) has only a couple of places left. If you know anyone who wants to apply, then they will need to be fast.

Other excitements at the centre this month include the much-awaited celebration event which saw record
numbers in Kathie’s lovely garden, and the rather less welcome incident of a van meeting up with our car park wall. Thank you to all those who have adapted to the new normal of a lack of wall and reduced parking capacity. Any recommendations for local builders are most welcome!

This month, we are looking back at the celebration event (we have photos), announcing another speaker for the upcoming conference, and a reminder to check out our therapist directory, for all your therapy and supervision needs!

A quick reminder that I’m on holiday later in August, so I’ll be nagging those who haven’t returned their start of year paperwork to do so ASAP. See you on the other side (September, that is)

Joanne – Admin and Business Support

Celebration Day

Well, wasn’t the celebration day glorious? A huge thank you to everyone involved and congratulations again to all those achieving their milestones.

UKCP Accreditation Update

We have made some changes to both accreditation routes and the updated handbooks will be available on the member’s website in the next couple of weeks. One of the main changes is that we are now moving to two submission dates per year – the last working days of October and April. This decision is based on a review of the number of applicants coming through. If you are in the process of working towards accreditation or hoping to begin the process, please do familiarise yourself with the updated handbooks. As ever if you have any questions, please do get in touch with Sara or myself.

We have a host of therapists who can do personal therapy, group therapy, peer support, or provide
supervision. Details of some of these are below. Please note that it is your own responsibility to make sure that any therapy hours you do and any therapist you use fits the criteria for counting hours towards your
qualification. If you’re not sure, please ask. Therapists and supervisors work independently of ECPT.

Accredited Psychotherapist and have some capacity to offer personal therapy or supervision. I am an
integrative psychotherapist with a specialism in Transactional Analysis and I currently work in private practice and for Space2BHeard. I can offer 1:1 or group sessions.

All hours can be counted towards your diploma in
Psychotherapeutic Counselling or Psychotherapy. If you would like to find out more, please get in touch via
email cherryrobson@ellesmerecentre.co.uk or call/text on 07812983008.

private practice. The October meeting will be a New Members meeting, and is open to anyone who is an
