20th March 2013, 10.00-4.30, Facilitator: Kathie Hostick TSTA
In this workshop we look at how we can respond to and work effectively with this very sensitive issue. We will aim to develop an understanding of how these very real and traumatic experiences not only have a devastating impact on the young person and their childhood, but influence choice and direction in the life and relationships of the surviving adult.
We will consider the complexities and ethics of abuse related work and explore approaches and interventions within a caring, educational, support or therapy context.
We will also look at how to be in the relationship with individual client’s who have suffered childhood sexual abuse and how we respond to some of their presenting difficulties in the here and now.
