Bipolar Disorder is a treatable illness marked by extreme changes in mood, thought, energy and behaviour. The person’s mood alternates between the polarity of high elevated mood and low depressed mood. These changes in mood can last hours, days, weeks or months. Bipolar disorder affects approximately 2.4 million people in the UK and can have an adverse impact on family, friends, co-workers and social care workers. This workshop will look at:

  • What is Bipolar Disorder?
  • What it’s like to experience Bipolar Disorder
  • Treatments and “cure”
  • An alternative perspective to the medical model
  • Self-care and management techniques
  • How to best support a person with Bipolar Disorder

This workshop will include self reflective exercises and group discussion
