Register for Developing Skills in Group Work
3rd April 2014, 10.00-4.30, £80
Facilitator: Kathie Hostick TSTA UKCP
Groups play a major part of life’s journey. We have all at some point in our lives had both positive and negative experiences of being in a group. The most significant group we will ever experience is our original family group and this sets the blueprint for succeeding group encounters.
Eric Berne developed Transactional Analysis in the 1950’s as a way of looking at personality development and social interaction. TA is particularly useful as a theory for working with groups in all settings including counselling and psychotherapy, educational groups or in organisational settings.
If you are interested in the theory of groups and further developing your understanding or you are interested in running a group and would like an insight into the necessary skills and techniques to facilitate a group you will find this a useful day?
We will combine theoretical presentations, experiential exercises and group discussions to make this a stimulating and enjoyable learning experience.
