Courses
ECPT is an independent, private training provider specialising in training psychotherapists and counsellors. The academic level of our counselling courses is Level 6 (the same as a bachelors degree), and psychotherapy is Level 7 (the same as a postgraduate degree), however, the courses are part-time and a diploma from us is not a full degree.
A Level 6 or Level 7 ECPT Diploma is sufficient to work in many NHS settings or go into private practice, and makes you eligible to seek UKCP accreditation.
We are an alternative to university for those that want to study part-time, are able to self-fund, and want to gain the practical experience that UKCP and other accrediting bodies and employers are looking for alongside the academic work.
We do not have access to funding through Student Finance

The Core Theory Year, and advanced years of our 3-year Psychotherapeutic Counselling and 4-year Psychotherapy diplomas run on weekends (from September) or on Thursdays & Fridays (from February).
For the September start, each year group runs one weekend per month from September to June.
For the February start, the mixed group of Core Theory Year students and advanced students runs one Thursday & Friday a month from February to December (no class in August)
