CTA (Certified Transactional Analyst)

Beyond Diploma level

The Ellesmere Centre offers a full TA psychotherapy training to CTA (Certified Transactional Analyst) level. This psychotherapy training leads to registration with UKCP as a Psychotherapist. Trainees holding the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling may continue on a fourth year of training towards qualifying as a psychotherapist.

Personal Therapy

The Diploma in Integrative & Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling requires each trainee to have an experience of at least 105 hours of personal therapy. The Diploma in Integrative & Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy requires each trainee to have an experience of at least 160 hours of personal therapy. This needs to be undertaken during the period of training and with a UKCP registered therapist.

The Ellesmere Centre believes that this personal experience of therapy is essential for developing effective therapeutic relationships with clients. It is also a requirement of UKCP for those going beyond Diploma level.
