It’s an exciting time on the Certificate in Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People’s course. This is the first time that the course has run and we are now half way through! So far we have covered beginnings and contracting, safeguarding and legal issues/ethics, creative interventions and also mental health.

7 people are enjoying the course. They come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations (including Education, Mental Health and Social Services) all working with children and young people. They all have different experiences and ways of working with this client group that I really value.

The course is designed to cover issues that practitioners face regularly when working with children and young people. Our hope is that if you attend the course, you will feel more equipped and supported to deal with issues (such as anger or self harm) that children and young people bring to you as clients.

All the courses trainers have a wealth of personal and professional experience working with children and young people. John Bradley, Louise Mowthorpe and Mica Douglas are all really pleased to be part of this course and they are all eager to share their enthusiasm for working with this client group.
